Privacy Policy

What we collect

• Your email — required for every account, used to sign you in and send reminders.
• Your phone number — optional. You add and verify it yourself in Settings if you'd rather get reminders by text. We only text you once you've verified the number is really yours.
• The people and dates you tell us about — names, how you know them, birthdays, anniversaries, and other occasions you ask us to track. This is the core of the product, so it's the most sensitive thing we hold.
• Shipping addresses — for whoever a physical card is being mailed to, saved so we don't have to ask twice.
• Card messages — anything you write (or we draft with you) for the inside of a card, so it can be printed or handwritten and sent.
• Payment information — handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card number; Stripe passes us only what we need to know a payment succeeded.

How we use it

To send you reminders before a date arrives, to print and mail cards you order, to bill your subscription, and to run the account itself (signing in, customer support, fraud prevention). We don't use what you tell us about the people in your life for advertising, and we don't sell it.

Who else sees it

We work with a small number of service providers, each of whom only gets what they need to do their specific job:

• Firebase (Google) — account sign-in and where your data is stored.
• Stripe — payment processing and subscription billing.
• Resend — delivers our emails, including reminders.
• Twilio — delivers text-message reminders, only for subscribers who've opted in and verified their number.

We don't sell your personal information to anyone, and we only share it beyond the providers above if the law requires it.

Gifted subscriptions

If someone bought ThoughtFull as a gift for you, her email and payment method are what set up your account and keep the subscription renewing — she doesn't get an account of her own, and the dates and people you add from there are yours, not shared back to her. She manages billing only through a separate, time-limited link we email her.

Text message (SMS) reminders

If you opt in to text reminders and verify your number, we use it only to send you the reminders you signed up for. Message frequency depends on how many dates you're tracking. ThoughtFull will not share your mobile information with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All other categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties. Your number is only passed to Twilio, and only because Twilio is the carrier we use to actually deliver the text on our behalf; Twilio doesn't use it for its own marketing either.

The opt-in as it appears in Settings. Turning on text reminders is a separate, explicit step — it stays off until you check the box and confirm your number.

Your choices

• Reply STOP to any reminder text to stop text reminders immediately — you'll still get email ones unless you also turn those off.
• Switch back to email-only reminders, or remove your phone number, any time in Settings.
• Ask us to delete your account and the data tied to it by emailing us — see Contact, below.

How long we keep it

We keep your account data for as long as your account is active, plus what we're required to keep for billing, tax, and fraud-prevention records after that. If you ask us to delete your account, we remove what we're not legally required to retain.

Children

ThoughtFull is not directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

Security

We use industry-standard safeguards to protect your information, but no method of storing or transmitting data online is completely secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we'll update the date at the top of this page and, for significant changes, let you know by email.
